The Hiram Police Department mourns the loss of K-9 Diesel who passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2017. K-9 Diesel, who was nearly 11 years old, and began his service with the Hiram Police Department in 2009 and served until he and Sergeant Bowles both retired in 2013. K-9 Diesel was a single purpose law enforcement canine who was trained in narcotics detection. Although K-9 Diesel had been retired for over four years, he was beloved by many at the City of Hiram.

Throughout the course of his career, K-9 Diesel was responsible for numerous felony narcotics seizures. K-9 Diesel will be remembered for his relentless drive and his unwavering desire to find narcotics, and the love and praise of his handler. K-9 Diesel was handled by Sergeant Keith Bowels (Ret.) during their career with the Hiram Police Department before they both retired in 2013.
